2:00 PM – 2:30 PM: "Smart Water Cities": a decision-support tool for designing cities that are more resilient to water-related challenges

How can stormwater management, flood prevention, and environmental benefits be integrated into urban development projects?
Fanny Gritten will present the "Smart Water Cities" tool, developed by the University of Liège and CEBEDEAU. This multi-criteria approach allows for the comparison of different development scenarios and supports urban planners, engineering firms, and decision-makers in designing more sustainable and resilient projects.
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Reducing pollutant discharges during wet weather through smart sewer network management
Georges Schutz – General Manager, RTC4Water
How can existing sanitation infrastructure be optimized during heavy rainfall events? Georges Schutz will present the solution developed by RTC4Water, which leverages network data, storage capacity, and operational forecasts to manage infrastructure in real time and reduce the environmental impact of discharges.
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Stormwater treatment using vortex technology: INASEP’s 10+ years of practical experience
Steve Bernard – Deputy Director of the Wastewater Management Department, INASEP
For over a decade, INASEP has been using vortex technology in several of its stormwater treatment facilities. Steve Bernard will share insights gained from this field experience, covering how the technology works, its performance, operational benefits, and best practices.
