What if AI was a help in our wastewater treatments ?

eWatLink's project

What if artificial intelligence could help us treat our wastewater better?

At CEBEDEAU, we have co-developed the eWatLink project with SPGE: an intelligent wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) management system combining connected sensors, AI and predictive control. The aim? To optimize, in real time, the performance of WWTPs in terms of energy consumption, treatment quality and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The innovative core of eWatLink is :

  • Real-time data architecture (IoT, API, SQL, Modbus),
  • Machine Learning and non-linear predictive control (nMPC) algorithms,
  • And intelligent control based on a multi-criteria function, adaptable by operators.

Installed at the Bastogne Rhin WWTP, in partnership with IDELUX Eau, the results are already visible:

  • 10 to -15% energy consumption per aeration cycle
  • Reduced peak consumption thanks to dynamic tariffs
  • Lower nitrate discharges and N₂O emissions
  • Generation of daily indicators for energy/environment audits

What's next? The development of real-time economic controllers, integrating influential load forecasting thanks to AI.

Curious to find out more? We'll be present at the Aquarama trade show in October, so come and talk to us at the conference dedicated to eWatLink!
