This analysis requires highly reliable tools and protocols. For example, wastewater matrices, particularly domestic ones, contain bile acids which can be confused with certain PFAS during analysis. It is therefore important to be able to differentiate the analytical signals of these bile acids from those of the PFAS present in the sample. To achieve this, specific high-purity solvents are used. During each analytical run, the bile acids are also injected to ensure differentiation from the PFAS contained in the sample.
